This little gem is an even rarer sight than the Alfa 155. It belongs to the wife, besides, I look a burk driving it. This was never available in the UK in any shape or form. There are around 100 of these in the UK and 33000 worldwide. It is a "Kei" class car for the Japan market. It is very small with an equally small 660cc engine. I makes a lot of noise though revving to nearly 9000 rpm. It looks a sorry sight at the minute as it is currently being restored. The plan is to have it ready for this summer. Most of the body panels will be replaced and then a full respray. There will also be the addition of a body kit and different alloy wheels.
The restoration is well and truly underway. All the parts have finally arrived, some had to be specially ordered from Japan. In addition to the parts required for restoration we have purchased a body kit and different alloy wheels. I have stripped the car down ready for paint. It is now at a local body shop. We have decided to keep it yellow but have opted for Giallo Ginestra which is a Maserati colour.
The Beat is back from the body shop now and the rebuild is well and truly underway. Still much to do to it but with the front and rear looking something like you can see what the end result will look like.
Back on the road now having had the majority of the rebuild complete. There's still a lot of work to do, especially to the interior. I might wait until next winter to do that.
